“The IMA is delighted that the Mathematics Teacher Training Scholarship scheme will continue into 2020 / 21. The scheme will encourage applications from anyone with excellent mathematical knowledge combined with the flair and creativity to be an inspirational maths teacher. Our incredible Scholars are making a real difference to the next generations mathematical knowledge. We look forward to meeting many, many more. Lets make 2020 / 2021 even more successful!”

This is the first step of an exciting journey taking you towards a career teaching Maths!
In previous years, we have received an overwhelming number of applications to the Maths Scholarships which led to the Scheme closing earlier than expected. Should this happen again, then we will close early so follow us on social media to keep up to date. We also advise you not to leave submitting your application until nearer the closing date.

We are working closely with the London Mathematical Society (LMS), Royal Statistical Society (RSS), Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI), The Mathematical Association (The MA) and STEM Learning to develop and deliver the scheme on behalf of the wider maths community. Individual members of the maths community can support the scheme either through publicising it or taking an active role as an assessor. Individual bodies and institutions including universities and schools also host assessment activities.
