“The IMA is delighted that the Mathematics Teacher Training Scholarship scheme will continue into 2018 / 2019. The scheme will encourage applications from anyone with excellent mathematical knowledge combined with the flair and creativity to be an inspirational maths teacher. Our incredible Scholars are making a real difference to the next generations mathematical knowledge. We look forward to meeting many, many more. Last year we recruited more maths teaching Scholars than ever before. Lets make 2018 / 2019 even more successful!”
- David Youdan, Chief Executive of the IMA

Last year, we received an overwhelming number of applications to the Maths Scholarships which lead to the Scheme closing earlier than originally intended. If this happens again, then we will close early.

We are working closely with the London Mathematical Society (LMS), Royal Statistical Society (RSS), Mathematics in Education and Industry (MEI), The Mathematical Association (The MA) and the National STEM Learning Centre to develop and deliver the scheme on behalf of the wider maths community. Individual members of the maths community can support the scheme either through publicising it or taking an active role as an assessor. Individual bodies and institutions including universities and schools also host assessment activities.
