Leading the experience with a place at university has been so beneficial socially and has provided a useful support network outside of the school placement, which at times can be stressful.

I am looking forward to being able to incorporate these and some of the other resources signposted on STEM Learning with my classes in the future.

The main piece of advice I would give to any aspiring teacher is to think about your reasons for getting into the profession. They will carry you through anything the training process can throw at you.

Even though I have few favourite behaviour management techniques that work for me, I do think behaviour management is something I will be perfecting for the rest of my teaching career.

The final piece of advice I would give is just to smile and walk with your head held high. Be proud of yourself and that you want to become a secondary mathematics teacher.

Ultimately, I believe school placements are where the most important learning takes place during your PGCE year. I have really enjoyed my school placements so far and tried to get as much out of them as possible.
