To anyone considering becoming a Maths Scholar, I would highly recommend it, since it only serves to enrich your future teaching career.

Even though the work can often be overwhelming and tiring, the knowledge that it will positively impact tens of students this year - and hundreds more in years to come – is the greatest change I’ve experienced in my transition into teacher training.

The assessors were lovely, and the experience was very enjoyable - more like a discussion than an interview! I came away feeling even more excited about teaching maths!

Secondary mathematics teaching is an admirable career to pursue, and having good intentions for your reasons why will always motivate you to do the best job you can.

Fundamentally, I want to be able to use my personal experiences to help influence the young minds of today – to repay the enthusiasm and inspiration I felt when taught Maths by my secondary school tutor.

There’s a lot to figure out but you can feel that your place is here. All the reasons that lead you to this point make sense once more and you realise it doesn’t become easier, but you’ve become better.
