Ultimately the Scholarship programme will provide me with a wealth of information on how to constantly improve my teaching practises, whilst also providing the tools to do so. I have no doubt I will emerge a stronger teacher as a result of the support available to me.

Becoming a Maths Scholar has given me the opportunity to further develop my interpersonal, communicative and professional skills from like-minded people who want to inspire students through the application of mathematics.

I found that the interviewer was very positive and made me feel comfortable, and asked me interesting questions which probed my mathematical thinking. Unlike some other interviews that I have completed, I truly feel that my Scholarship interview gave me a fair opportunity to articulate myself.

Witnessing the applications and how the skills learned in maths were woven into the bones of society helps me give maths meaning in the classroom. For me, it keeps everything in perspective and reminds me why I am teaching each concept.

Being a Maths scholar will give me impeccable advantages with the wealth of resources and knowledge and I believe I can achieve remarkable milestones as an inspirational teacher.

I found the webinar inspiring and hope to be able to use some of the ideas in my own maths lessons. I am going to be teaching about similar shapes soon and I’m hoping to be able to use the ‘curves of pursuit’ activity in one of my lessons.
