Lost in transition? How to support students as they move from KS2 to KS3

Saturday 10th of April 2021 - Live Webinar

Part of the Easter Online Jamboree 2021

About The Event

In the session we will engage with some maths and consider how a focus on curriculum and pedagogical continuity can support students as they move from KS2 to KS3. We will look at the expectations at the end of KS2 and focus on how this understanding has been developed through the use of representations and language.

Bring paper and a pen and a handful of counters if you have them (Lego bricks or sweets will work too!).

This event will be held between 10:00 - 12:00 (BST) on Saturday the 10th of April 2021.

About the Speaker

Alison HopperAlison Hopper has been involved in primary education in various roles for around 20 years. As a class teacher and senior teacher, she led maths, assessment and music in a number of schools. For many years, she was a Primary Strategy Mathematics Consultant in Surrey and also spent two years lecturing at The University of Brighton on their ITT courses in maths. The combination of these roles allowed her to explore how children learn and how teachers teach from many perspectives.

Alison continues to develop resources to support transition from Key Stage 2 to 3, with MEI.
