Shape Up – The Joint Conference Of Mathematical Subject Associations In April 2024

Kick-start your maths career with a fantastic networking and personal development opportunity next April!

The Mathematical Association is delighted to announce that they will be taking part in ‘Shape Up’ a joint Conference of Mathematical Subject Associations during 3-5th April 2024 with AMET, ATM, NAMA and NANAMIC

The five mathematical subject associations are membership organisations who provide a voice and professional development opportunities to those with an interest in improving and who work within mathematics education. Membership options are available across the five associations from Trainees and Maths Scholars, to ECTs, teachers from all educational levels and Institutions. To find out more about the membership options the Mathematical Association offers. (All Maths Scholars receive two year’s free Membership of the Mathematical Association.)

The conference is taking part during the Easter break, offering members of all five associations, as well as non-members, an invaluable opportunity to explore new ideas and make social and professional connections in a stimulating environment that encourages face-to-face sharing and learning.

Located in the historical market town of Stratford-upon-Avon at the 4 star stunning riverside hotel the Crowne Plaza, delegates will have the opportunity to explore the local area of Shakespeare’s hometown. The venue is close to Stratford-upon-Avon train station, with links to Birmingham and London and offers free onsite parking for delegates.

Learn first-hand about the latest developments in mathematics education and be inspired by the wide range of sessions available, brought together in this joint endeavour.

Over 100 workshops and talks to choose from

Delegates can choose from a fantastic selection of over 100 workshops and talks to devise a highly personalised professional development and enrichment experience of exceptional quality aimed at those working within all levels of mathematics education from Primary, Secondary, Post-16 and beyond.

Upbeat, relevant and thought-provoking sessions with useful ideas for classroom use.— Feedback from a 2023 Delegate.

Tickets and Funded Bursary Places:

Tickets will be on sale soon, available for the whole 3-day conference, or as day tickets. Early bird prices will be available, as well as an option to pay in instalments.

We understand that cost can be a barrier for trainee teachers to attend, which is why we will be offering a limited number of funded bursary places to help you kick-start your teaching career and network with members of the five mathematical subject associations. Keep an eye out for more information about ticket prices and bursary places by following the Mathematical Association on X (Twitter) @Mathematical_A
