Taking Your Career Up A Level With Teaching Vacancies

After a busy Autumn term for many teachers, the Spring term is an opportunity to reflect on goals and consider future career aspirations. Some might want to look for a more flexible role, make a step up to a leadership position, or just want a change.

If you are a teacher looking for new opportunities this term, the Department for Education’s Teaching Vacancies service is an essential tool in helping you to secure your next role. It’s the largest source of primary school jobs directly listed by primary schools in England, and the second largest for secondary roles. Since the start of this academic year (Sept 2023) there have been over 30,000 vacancies listed.

Teaching Vacancies provides a quicker, easier way to take the next step in your teaching career, cutting down on your job-seeking homework. Roles can be filtered based on criteria including location, job title, education phase and working pattern (flexible hours, part-time). You can see all the jobs at a glance that meet your criteria and the job alert function means you are notified of relevant roles as soon as they get advertised.

We support Teaching Vacancies, as it benefits all in the education sector – from trainee teachers looking for their first role, to schools wanting to save money. This service is totally free for schools to use and was created in response to schools spending over £75m a year on recruitment.

Join more than 80,000 teachers who have already signed up for job alerts on Teaching Vacancies so you can stay up-to-date on the working opportunities out there, for when you’re ready for the next move.
