My Experience Of The Online Assessment As Part Of My Application To The Maths Scholarships

My online assessment with the Maths Scholarships was very well organised. The details outlining what was expected of me were clear, allowing me time to research and reflect on the questions and tasks I would be completing at the assessment. This was allocated to me in plenty of time before the assessment, with reachable contacts provided for me to address any queries.

The introduction to the online assessment from the two Assessors was outstanding. They introduced themselves as well as their own academic and professional journeys. I expressed my overwhelming excitement and anxiousness and together they put my mind at ease. They went on to explain that there will be no surprises and that I could use any notes made to prompt myself and to take my time.

The three stages of the assessment were broken down clearly and I knew exactly what they were looking for at each stage due to the excellent breakdown of the content. If my responses to the questions were too brief or lacking in some way, the two Assessors would break the question down further to allow me to a better insight into the depth of the question.

I did not feel rushed or like a number throughout the whole process. I felt like I was heard and I felt like they genuinely wanted to get to know my background in order to understand my passion and drive for the teaching of mathematics.

Concluding the assessment was just as enjoyable, with clear dates provided of how I would receive the information regarding if I was successful or not and how this would be delivered to me. I was thanked for my effort and for my attendance and left the whole online process feeling proud to have got so far.
